August 2004 Entries
My last day at Gateway Community Bank was yesterday. It was somewhat sad because I'm really going to miss the people there. I know that I made the right decision to take the Northwest Bank job though. Last night after work Jennifer, Catherine, Danielle, and I went out to eat at Chili's to celebrate Catherine's 20th Birthday and so we could just get together since I'm leaving. It was a ton of fun! It was just nice to get together outside of work and get to know them. Danielle had to leave around 9 and after she left Catherine, Jennifer, and I stayed for a while. Some guy that was sitting at the bar had a server come over to our table and tell Catherine that he wanted to buy her a drink if she was old enough or if she wasn't then he would buy her something off of the menu. We were going to get a dessert and Jennifer and I were going to get a drink, but he wouldn't pay unless we went over there and talked to him and his friend. We said we wouldn't so he came over to our table and basically sat on Catherine's lap. (he was wasted) We just blew him off and he left. Then a little while later his friend started walking over to us so we got up and left. They came outside so we all got in Jennifer's car and drove over to Target even though it was closed. We just wanted to get out of there. We finally went back and got Catherine and my car and came back to the apartment and hung out with Mark. Other than the freaky guys it was a fun night! I hope to stay in touch with the girls. Today, Mark and I went on another 12 mile bike ride. I think I am slowly getting in better shape. Mark's brother leaves for school tomorrow so we are going over to his parent's house to spend the day with Jeff and their parents. I start at Northwest on Monday and am ready. My first couple of days is going to be orientation so I won't even be in the same branch that I will actually be working in. Hopefully everyone there is close to my age too so that we can become pretty good friends also. :)
I got a full time position at Northwest Bank here in Rockford. I will be starting on August 23rd. I'm pretty excited because I feel that I will be able to learn new things. Today we went to Anderson Gardens with Mark's family. I really enjoy going there but it's almost pointless to go more than once a year because it doesn't change much. Mark and I made turtle cookies that we bought from the store. They were really good so I would recommend them to anyone. :) I have been watching the Olympics a little bit. Some of the athletes really impress me. I wish I was in shape like them. Even somewhat like them would be fine. I am rambling on just to have something to write about so I will stop now. :)
In order for all of the guys to bat at the softball they needed another girl so I said I would do it. I only had/got to bat once. The first one I got a strike then I hit the ball but they threw it to first before I could make it there. I'm just happy that I hit it! hehe Mark and I are going to the Beloit Snappers baseball game tomorrow night. Then on Saturday we are going up to Janesville to a bike shop and up to Kettle Moraine to bike. It should be a ton of fun, especially since the weather is supposed to be about 78 and right now 0% chance of rain!
Nothing too exciting has happened lately. Mark's last softball game is tomorrow, well that is until his fall league starts. We finally got some rain last night. We went to Mark's parents last night and brought back his old sega genesis. He had fun playing the old games. :) I can't think of anything else that is interesting. Sad, I know.
