September 2004 Entries

It's been a while, so I thought that I would fill you in on what is new. First of all, our site is now being hosted out of our apartment on my own web server because before it was hosted at KMK Media Group. In regards to KMK Media Group, I tried to keep everything in good terms, but unfortunately that did not work out 100%. I was going to continue to sub contract for them, but they tried to majorly short change me, so I said "no thanks." Then out of anger or by accident my entire e-mail account got dumped, resulting in a loss of many personal e-mails. Doesn't exactly make me want to be buddy buddy and be willing to help...would it you? Anyways, on a better note, things are in swing over at Woods Equipment Company. I spent my first day in Rockford getting aquainted with everything here, then I spent 2 days in Oregon, IL learning things down there. Turns out that I will be mostly maintaining the web sites here and working on supporting the network and PCs. April and I spent a weekend down at grandma's place and Rob came up from Matoon to spend the weekend with us. We went to the apple & pork festival and went to Weldon Springs. It was quite a nice getaway. We have not been able to cycle much lately because of the many things going on and me getting back so late from work, but hopefully that will change soon! Well, that's all I have for now. TTFN.
This morning has been a nerve racking morning. As everyone probably saw on the homepage, I have accepted a new position with Woods Equipment. Telling KMK this morning that I was leaving was much more difficult than interviewing for the job in the first place. Although I am moving on to bigger and better things, not only we're my coworkers (which happened to be all owners) my bosses, but my friends as well. It was hard to part, but I did it. Kristina, this was the news I could not disclose to you, now you are in the know. I am an employee somewhere else now. But not all is lost. I am still going to come and visit, go biking with Chris, and do more programming for KMK on the side. I want to keep a great relationship with KMK because they are the one's that saved me from unemployment out of college and it has been a great ride! Anyways, I wish KMK the best of luck!
I work my first Saturday at Northwest tomorrow. My family is coming tomorrow for the weekend and luckily my mom ended up getting Monday off so that way they can stay an extra day. I am not sure what they are going to want to do but I am guessing we will probably go to Volcano Falls for some putt-putt. Tomorrow evening we are all going out to Mark's parent's house for a cook out. I'm sure that my siblings will love the go-cart. This is the first time they have seen the new apartment and the first time to see Mark's Parent's house. Actually Ashley has seen their house because she came up here with me last year for Jeff and Mark's graduation party. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!
It has been a long while since I have written a blog, so I thought that right now was as good a time as any. Things have been about the same. Work. Ride. Sleep. About everyday. April and I have been riding bikes almost every day for the past week. We are definitely getting in better shape as the rides are much easier. April was even staying up with me last night. April's family is coming this weekend and we are having a cookout at my parent's for Labor Day. Looks like Saturday should be a nice day. I pulled out some of my old music CDs a couple days ago. It was really fun going through some of the old classic rock that I have. I have been jamming to Van Halen in my car for the past couple of days. Check back soon a I may have some important news regarding something that I am not at liberty to talk about at this time. Later.
