March 2008 Entries

Front of the houseWe found a new house and they accepted our offer.  Our closing date will be on April 28th.  We are very excited about the new house and can't wait to move in.  Living room view from dining areaIt is a split ranch, which means that the living room, dining room, and kitchen are in the middle, with the master on one side and the other two bedrooms on the other.  There are three bedrooms, two baths, and a fully unfinished basement.  This means that we can build another theatre room when we are ready.  Kitchen view from living roomThe basement is huge so we will probably also finish an area for the office as well as a craft area for me.  There is a gas fireplace which is pretty exciting.  The pictures are from the realtor website but we will post more after we move in.  Click here for all 8 pictures.

We just accepted an offer on our current house so that means that we are selling our house and buying a new one all in one day.  The closings will actually be on the same day as well.  Now the only thing left on the checklist is for me to find a job and of course some minor things.
Ada Catherine

Jeff and Laura are parents to a baby girl.  Ada Catherine, named after Laura's dad's mom and Grandma Baylor, was born on March 26, 2008 a little before 10 am.

IMG_0919We went to Phil and Sue's for Easter Sunday.  Instead of having the traditional ham on Easter we decided that we wanted steak, so we grilled ribeyes.  Sue also made corn, cheesy mashed potatoes, rolls, lemon cheesecake and for the appetizer, veggie pizza.  It was all delicious!!

I knew that we hadn't done a ton lately to take pictures so I thought I better take some for the blog.  We just hung out with Hank so here are a few fun pictures. :)  Here is the slideshow.

An update on us...The house is still on the market, but we have lowered the price so hopefully it will sell soon.  WIMG_0928e have had a few showings and a few open houses.  One couple that came to an open house is coming tomorrow to take another look so keep your fingers crossed. :)

I am still looking for a job, but luckily I am allowed to stay at Schlichting until I find something else.  They are treating me very well and really helping out through all of this.  They are allowing me to take days off if I need to go up to West Bend to interview.  Unfortunately, I haven't even had one interview yet, but am working with a few recruiting agencies.IMG_0939

Mark has been working for almost a month now.  It's a lot different from Woods but he expected that a little with a larger company.  Even though he has only been there for almost a month there have already been a lot of changes.

We have looked at a few houses and have been preapproved so we can get the ball rolling whenever we are ready.  Mark looked at a house last night that we found online and I am going to look this weekend.  Maybe it will be our new house. :)

Jonathan and Ashley

Jonathan just informed all of us that he is now engaged to Ashley.  They have known each other for 9 years but have been very close friends for the past 6 years and have decided to take the next step in their life together.  Good luck to the two of you and congratulations!

Happy Birthday Laura!!  We hope that you have a great day!

This picture is of Laura climbing out of the wolf's den when we were at Franconia Notch in New Hampshire.  The area was so tiny that we had to literally wiggle through.  First our head, then body, then one leg, and then the other.
